Tuesday 29 December – Tier 4 Announcement

Good Morning,

The Competition Secretary has been working through all the entries, to contact those who are thought to be under the Tier 4 restrictions, that have been imposed by the UK GOV’t.

Please can all those who have received an email please acknowledge the email, to allow the refund process to take place. It is understood that some drivers are within a Tier 4 County but their postcode states they are not in Tier 4.

Tuesday 29 December – Update

Practice Day 29th December
• We plan to proceed with the practice day on 29th December
• We will not be able to accept entries from Tier 4 residents at our practice day
• Our Competition Secretary has emailed all those believed to be in Tier 4
• Unless they contact the Competition Secretary by 10pm Tonight, entries will be cancelled and refunds issued.
• Spaces may therefore open up on Wednesday for those not in Tier 4 still wanting to enter
• Practice will start on track at 0900, gates will be open by 0730, no overnights

• Driver briefing and Team Entry form , is on the “View Details” section on the Calendar page for 29th December
• The entry form for those coming just for their Award, is on the homepage page
• Please follow the rules, wear a face mask at all times, do not bring scooters or bicycles to the circuit
• Our Club COVID Officer will be checking for compliance, anyone not following the rules may be asked to leave
• Catering will be available as usual

December Practice – 29th December

Please note entries for the Tuesday 29th December test day will close at 5pm on 24th December, so do enter soonest as some classes may be size limited. We regret we can only accept entries for this practice day from our normal race day classes, including Rotax, gearbox but not Bambino. We shall also be presenting the 2020 awards, and cordially invite all award and trophy winners to attend. This will start at 2.30pm.

We expect to open entries for the January 16th / 17th race meetings online from 30th December. Remember that 2021 club memberships are available on the website and if signed up will allow the club member discount for the 29th December. If you renew your pit space we are giving a discount for 2021 as a thank you. We are offering a Bambino race winter series at our January, February and March meetings. Drivers must have taken the ARKS novice driver test and have an Interclub (Bambino) licence. We will not be able to do ARKS Tests for Bambino on the morning of the race meetings, but will be able to do ARKS tests for reasonably experienced drivers in the other classes.

December Testing

Your Shenington committee have decided to hold the December practice days as follows:

• Saturday 12th December for IAME Cadet, MiniX, KZ2/ KZUK, X30 Junior, X30 Senior, MiniMax, Junior Max, Senior Max

• Sunday 13th December for Honda Cadet, Junior TKM, TKM Clubman, TKM Extreme, Rotax Libre, 250 National, Bambino Comer C50 (6 years upwards).

• Tuesday 29th December for all these classes but with limits on the numbers, COVID permitting.

We hope this will provide some track time for you, maybe to test a new kart and we can offer ARKS tests as well. For that you need to book with our Examiner Tom Whitehouse (see Contact Us on our website), having purchased the Start Karting pack from www.motorsportuk.org, and bought a test voucher from www.arks.co.uk .

Note that if Bambino’s wish to race in our Winter Championship they will have to buy the pack and take the ARKS test, applying for a Kart Interclub (Bambino) 2021 licence. We will not be able to offer Bambino ARKS tests on the morning of race days.

If you join the club now for 2021, or are a 2020 member, you will receive the club member discounts at the practice days. • Bambino will be restricted to a maximum of 22 karts, and no Junior Incident marshals (pushers) will be permitted in any class.

Overnight stays will not be permitted at all.
