Event Overview

The 2024 Shenington SuperPrix and Historic Revival will take place from July 19-21. This prestigious event will feature live-streamed finals with sponsor logos by Alphalive. A large entry is expected, with drivers competing for the prestigious E Plate (the karting world’s English Champion) in various classes.

E Plate Championship Classes

  • IAME Waterswift Restricted
  • IAME Waterswift Intermediate
  • Junior TKM
  • TKM Extreme
  • TKM Clubman
  • Junior X30
  • Senior X30
  • KZ2
  • 210 National

The E Plate can be used at any kart club. All usual race classes will still be available for entry and will count towards the club championship.

Event Format

  • Friday: Open practice for all normal classes, whether entered for the weekend or not.
  • Saturday Morning: Practice sessions.
  • Saturday Afternoon: Timed qualifying.
  • Remaining Weekend: Two heats and a final.

Tyre Requirements

Competitors in the E Plate classes (except for 210, TKM Clubman, and Waterswift Restricted) must buy control slick tyres from the club. These need to be purchased at the same time as the entry fee, which is £150 for Shenington members and £170 for others. All competitors will have their slick tyres scanned to be barcoded.

Awards and Incentives

Some of the top drivers in IAME Waterswift Intermediate, Junior X30, and Senior X30 will receive free or reserve entry tickets for the IAME International World Finals, subject to the usual age requirements. Details to be finalized.

Historic and Classic Kart Displays

The club will put up two large marquees, one of which is dedicated to static displays of historic and classic karts, lovingly restored by their owners. Around 100 of these karts are expected to participate, with entries made on the BHKC Alpha system.

Social Events

The social side of the SuperPrix is very important:

  • Friday Evening: Pizza night.
  • Saturday Evening: Hog roast with salad, music, and entertainment. All competitors receive a free ticket for the hog roast.
  • There will be a bar on both Friday and Saturday evenings.

Spectators and Live Streaming

The meeting is the club’s premier event of the year. Spectators are very much welcome, with commentary provided on Sunday. Live streaming will be available on YouTube, and last year’s event can be found by searching for “Shenington Superprix 2023”. Hundreds of spectators are expected.
