The SheningtonKRC Committee extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the drivers who participated in practice and/or races over the weekend. The weather bestowed upon us a delightful taste of summer, with warm temperatures prevailing, albeit with a slight drizzle on Friday.
Friday’s turnout witnessed a modest number of entries, with a notable surge in participation from the KZ category, which accounted for half of the entries. The day progressed smoothly and tranquilly, devoid of any notable issues. Any incidents that did occur were promptly and efficiently handled by the present incident marshals, ensuring the uninterrupted continuation of the day’s events.
Saturday brought forth nearly 200 entries, boasting healthy participation across the majority of the attended classes. The pleasant weather persisted throughout the day, accompanied by ample track time, affording drivers valuable opportunities to prepare for the upcoming race day.
Sunday witnessed highly competitive grids, setting the stage for exhilarating racing encounters. Unfortunately, we encountered a greater-than-desired number of red flags, causing the circuit to fall 42 minutes behind the scheduled timetable. However, thanks to the exceptional cooperation among marshals, officials, drivers, and all other involved parties, the circuit team managed to narrow this delay down to a mere 4 minutes by the time the final chequered flag was waved. Thanks to the front rows who controlled the formation lap at a reasonable speed ensuring stragglers caught up and getting the start away at the end of the first formation lap, keep it up please, remember no weaving!
We kindly request that you join us in expressing our gratitude to the marshals and officials who demonstrated unwavering dedication throughout the weekend, contributing significantly to our ability to conclude the day’s proceedings prior to the 6 PM curfew. Their concerted efforts ensured that all finals adhered to their designated timetables in their entirety. We extend our well wishes to any drivers who sustained injuries during the course of the weekend, hoping for their swift recovery and prompt return to the exhilarating world of karting.
Once again, we extend our deepest thanks to each and every one of you. We eagerly anticipate reconvening in June for another thrilling event.
